LIFE AND TIMES OF OBY NWANKWO

Here is a veteran Musician among female stars in Nigeria, a legend in her own right. Oby hails from Iziah Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State of Nigeria. Ada Ebonyi as she is fondly called by her fans and admirers - started singing in her church choir at a tender age and this was an early signal to her talent in music. 

She attended Azuiyiokwu Primary school and Holy Ghost secondary school for her early education. Much later she graduated from Teachers College and the prestigious University of Nsukka, after which she ventured into professional music.

To her credit are 4 musical albums with LONELINESS as her debut entry. As time went on 'Lady O' as she is popularly called, released a second musical album titled 'STAY WITH ME'. 

Oby's large appetite for excellence drove her to the recording studios and the outcome was 'An Ode to Ebonyi State' which was a song to eulogize her home state, Ebonyi. Not satisfied Oby Nwankwo waxed yet another album 'Reality in the Public Eye' her fourth entry. Quite unfortunately, Oby Nwankwo passed away on October 4th, 2019.
