His name is a household word in Nigeria, a star in his own right who has made an impact on the music scene with his musical works which have attained international acclaim for quite a while.
Fadabasi Udo Effiong attended Bola Memorial Primary School and Victory High School all in Ikeja area of Lagos, Nigeria. He later got admitted into the University of Uyo to read Communication and Fine Arts.

Fadabasi got introduced into backup singing by Sammy Nelson and he worked tirelessly as a backup singer for the likes of Danny Wilson and Femi Ojetunde who produced Dele Taiwo.
Fadabasi worked closely with Lemmy Ghariokwu, a notable Graphic Artist in Nigeria and did his industrial attachment there. Today Fadabasi is a qualified graphic designer. He did the graphic design on 'Lambano' by King George Emah. He was at 'Salt Records' as songwriter, backup singer and graphic artiste with the likes of Adu Deme and others.
After that Fadabasi went to work with Saipem Construction, Lagos for a period of 5 years.
He recorded his debut music album 'Introduction to Afro Rock' produced by Victor Enang which was also known as 'Dr. Love'; the album hit the limelight with the song 'E no easy'
Afterwhich, Fadabasi signed a recording deal with a Lagos-based British Music Producer, Carl Racha. The deal culminated in the dropping of a 7 tracker album titled 'Jowo' on Orangutan Record Label. This album contained 2 monumental hit songs namely 'Diamond in the sky' and 'Abasi mi Ayaiya'.
These 2 songs gave Fadabasi endorsements deals with 2 Nigerian Banks, namely Diamond Bank and First City Monument Bank (FCMB).
These two songs were adopted as advertisement songs for the two banks internationally and were being aired on CNN, SUPERSPORTS (MNET), Virgin Atlantic Airlines in-flight entertainment etc.
He hails from Abak area of Akwa Ibom State and doubles as a seasoned guitarist, songwriter, composer, and singer.
